Is there a way to add flavoring to chocolate? I melted some chocolate to pour into molds and thought it might taste kinda good if I added a little almond extract...........well, when I did, the chocolate siezed up and got thick like icing.

Is there a special kind of flavoring just for chocolate? Do I need to use a certain type of chocolate? I was just using the kind made for dipping, pouring into molds, etc....similar to the Wilton disks.

you actually need to use oils to flavour chocolate, I dont know what is available in the US but I asume you would have more variety than we do here in australia

Hi southaustingirl,
As chrislong66 said you need to flavor chocolate with an oil based flavor. If you have a local craft store that carries Wilton candy making products they usually carry some of the basic candy flavor oils. Most of the candy wafers are oil/waxed base therefore any type of liquid will cause it to harden up or become very grainy. Hope this helps.
