I made one batch a while back and it seemed too 'stiff' and dry. I actually just threw it out today as it had become very dry and unuseable. I made another batch the other day and coloured it while I was making it. I didn't follow the MMF recipe as I was putting the marshmallow mixture into 5 separate bowls and then adding the colour and icing sugar to it. It is much softer and often I have to add more icing sugar to it in order for it to not stick to my hands while kneading and playing with it. I was making a frog last night, and it looked kinda cute...I checked it this morning, and he has 'flattened' out considerably. Now, he still looks cute, but how come he didn't keep his shape? Is it because I didn't use enough icing sugar? He is also stuck to the waxed paper that he is sitting on...

Any ideas what I've done wrong???

I don't use MMF but it sounds like you didn't add enough sugar to the recipe if it's sticky and not keeping its shape.

Yeah, it sure sounds like to me you didn't add enough sugar. I use almost a 2 lb. bag for the recipe I have.

I think you needed more sugar too.
