Well, after asking for lots of ideas and suggestions, I finally finished all three of my hubbies cakes. I am pretty happy with the way they turned out. You can see them in my photos. I know that they are no where NEAR perfect, but I plan on getting better with time. Life is good after finishing a cake you like the looks of. 
Now on to the next cake project......a cheerleading cake for my daughters cheer squad. Their season ends next month. If anyone has seen anything cute or has a great idea, feel free to speak up!

Hi, your cakes turned out really well! I just saw a really cute cheerleading cake about 2 days ago in the galleries. Sorry, I cant be more specific, but I bet if you did a search for Cheer or cheerleading you will come u[ with some great ideas.
OK, just looked. Look under cheerleading in the search option of galleries. It is the pink cake on bottom row by ladyonzlake.
THanks. My husband is going from shore duty to sea duty. We get to stay here in Bremerton though. SO we are happy. He is only gone 3 months at a time, so it isn't too bad. I don't mind the 3 on 3 off rotation. It is much better than the 6 months out plus workups, etc which ended up having him gone for 10 months a year.
