I am going to make this strawberry filling for a cake sunday and it calls for cherry liquor which I can't find so I bought raspberry and I was wondering if that would go well with this recipe? I just want to make sure because i've never made a fruit filling for a cake and i don't know what goes with what. TIA

Can you get cherry extract? I am not sure about the raspberry, it is going to give it a different taste.

have you tried looking for Kirsch? that's the common name you'll seem rather than "cherry liquor"

I can't imagine any decent size liquor store not carrying it.

I dont see what the problem would be. If you like the flavour of raspberry it will be great.

no I didn't look for "Kirsh" I asked for cherry liquor that's probably why. I did buy the raspberry I went to Walgreens that maybe why I couldn't find it also. I think I'll go to another store and ask for the Kirsh to be on the safe side.....

Thanks guys

The LorrAnn flavors for candy making has cherry.
I'm sure you can use it in the filling. It's strong tasting so you don't need much.
