Should I be using salted butter or unsalted butter in the NFSC recipe? Does anyone know if it even makes a difference which one is used? Thanks in advance for your help!!!

I use unsalted and add the teaspoon of salt so it is not too salty. I also have made it without the salt for dialysis patients and they like them that way as well. If I don't have unsalted butter I use salted and omit the extra salt from the recipe.

I always use salted and also add what salt is called for in the recipe. Nobody has ever complained about salty cookies! icon_wink.gif

I use salted butter and don't add any salt. I think is is just a personal preference.

I prefer unsalted. That way I can control how much salt goes in the cookies or anything I bake.

It definately is a personal preference.

I use whatever I have. I can't tell any difference. I still add salt if the recipe calls for it even when using salted butter.
