Not sure exactly how many have tried the "reenie's crusting buttercream" recipe (in the CC recipe section) but I noticed that it was getting some low ratings, so decided to pass along the feedback I got when I sent a question to the submitter of the recipe.
As instructed, the recipe says to use 1lb of confectioner sugar. Well after waiting forever for this BC to crust -and it didn't- I contacted the submitter. I guess a typo must have occurred b/c she replied it should read 2lbs confectioner sugar not 1lb. I tried it again w/ the 2lbs and it crusted over beautifully!
So just in case you're one of the raters who gave it a low rating, just try it one more time, but use 2lbs confectioner sugar, and it will turn out great.
