Hi, All!!!!
I am having so much trouble making my flowers I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.I cann't take classes here so I'm trying to teach myself.I really enjoy doing this!!! Does anyone have any suggestions that may be of some help.I have been practing like crazy. Is there a place that I can buy flowers and just put on the cakes until I can learn.I have a wedding cake to do in May and she at first wanted real flowers and now she wants them all in icing and I told her that I'm learning and I'm not that good at the flower thing yet,but I guess it doesn't matter.I need spring flowers.

Thank You All

Try gumpaste flowers. you can roll gumpaste out really thin, I roll mine so I can see the grid lines on my cutting mat, It also has a lot more elasticity than fondant and sets quicker so it makes it easier to hold its shape. I'm not sure but there are probably some good recipes on CC for gumpaste and even some tutorials.

and another thing ask heaps of questions on CC....it takes a bit of practice but it is well worth it!!

good luck and have fun icon_lol.gif

Hey Torki! You beat me to it! I was going to recommend the Culpitt website! icon_lol.gif

It has some really great tutorials on it. I used the daffodil tutorial there to make the flowers on my easter cake (in my pics). It was my first attempt at making flowers and their instructions are really easy to follow.

Good luck with the wedding cake!

Kelly
