1. Debbie Brown uses a lot of spherical cakes in her work, but her only instructions (in my book at least) are that cakes are baked in whatever sized bowl pans - Anyone know where I can find these pans?

2. I was thrilled to find out about marshmallow fondant - Wilton's is the only brand locally available and I didn't want to spend the money for what I keep hearing is a bad tasting product - but does it hold up to forming into characters?

3. Tinting fondant - I read that 'paste' colors are used, but can only find 'gel pastes' online. Is this the same colors I use to color candy melts?

I'm super-excited to (try to) make my first fondant covered cake this weekend. It will be my second decorated cake - Here's a shot of my first:

Hi and Welcome to CC!
I have used the sports ball pan successfully for round/spherical cakes.
I have not used MMF but I have read many posts that folks here have used it for figures.
I use Americolor gels to tint fondant and it works well.

Hope this helps!

for different size bowl pans. Go buy yourself a set of stainless steel bowls, or a set of pyrex bowls that can be baked in. Its the cheapest way to go.
