My husbands cousin is a hairstylist and he wants some type of cake in the shape of scissors, or a unique cake for her. Her b-day is in a couple of days and I have No idea!

Thanks

Sissors would be tough, how about a hair dryer?

You could use a standard size cake (round or square) and make some scissors, combs, and clips with chocolate transfers or fondant/gum paste and use them around the base as decoration.

my first thought was "cousin it"...depending on your age, i dont know if you know who that is LOL- any way, how about something simple simple, like a double layer round cake, give it a crumbcoat then use the grass icing tip and pretend the cake is a head. make a "part" in the hair and just pull icing down from the middle to the sides. if you are handy with molding fondant, maybe you could mold a couple of barrets to put on the sides of the hair, and mold a pair of scissors to lay on the cake board. since the cake idea isnt extravagent, you could wow them with what is on the inside. torte each cake so there are 4 layers of cake and put a yummy filling (3 layers) inside ...something other than the typical buttercream. yum! hairball anyone?

scissors would be easy. 2 round cakes for the handle (part put finger through) and the carve the blades from large sheet/retangle cakes........
