I need to make a cake with an image of Tweety Bird on it. It will be a buttercream cake. I have always done buttercream transfers in the past and this will be my first try. I know how to do it, but is it going to be a problem laying on the cake? Will it break down? Does anybody have any experience with this? Also, do you think images look better outlined in black or not?

i have never had a problem with royal icing designs laying flat on the cake. As for the black outline, it all depends on the design. Probably for tweety that would look good. HTH

I love the blk outline b/c it really makes the image "pop" and stand out!

from my experience, the royal icing gets a little mushy after a day of sitting on buttercream, but still holds it shape. post a picture when you finish!

Well, the stinky color flow works really well! And works better than just RI (IMHO). I don't like the smell when I make it, but it did have a pretty turn out.

Thank you guys so much for answering! I made the tweety tonight, and I think I'll make a frozen buttercream transfer just for a backup. I'm so scared the RI is going to break!
