Ok I don't know why on earth
I suggested this to a lady wanting something really different for a fairy cake for her grandaughter well what's done is done now I gotta make this tree stump cake
with a fairy on top I haven't even made this fairy yet I will so tonight when kids go to bed, I have these pictures of 3 cakes by talented members of Cake Central I loved for the whole idea but wondering which way would be easier to achieve this testure on the tree stump using what looks like tip 21 on one the cakes or just smearing going up on the cake with a spatula which look is better I like both I guess question is which one do you think would be easier for me doing this for the first time, and how do I do the corner or whatever that's called on the tree the roots I guess OH my cat I'm into such a mess this cake is for Friday morning!!!!!
I am not sure how to answer you, but after looking at the cakes, I think either the star tip or the spatula would take the same effort. (Me: I would probley put the icing on with the star tip and use my finger to get the look I want.) The roots appear to be icing That has been pulled out. The first cake might have cake chunks for the roots. Hope this helps a little.
