Hi... I am puzzled and disappointed at the same time. I recently bought a printer, frosting sheets etc. I had heard and read a lot about this process and believed it would add another dimension to my work. Anyway, I printed, cut and applied the sheet to both a wet royal icing, and a damp rolled out fondant and the results....looks like paper stuck to an image. When I break the cookie, I can see two layers paper and royal icing. I thought this was suppose to "dissolve" without any traces of paper...but this paper has hardly dissolved but instead looks like a wet stamp with a monogram printed on it. I would appreciate any advice.... icon_confused.gif

Thanks

I don't think "dissolve" is the right word - maybe bond with your icing is more what they do. I have used edible images many times but never with royal icing. When the cake is cut you can see the icing sheet layer on top of the cake. I wish I could see a picture of what you mean so I had a better understanding of what happened.....you did peel the back off the image before you applied to the icing? Sorry I can not be more help!

Isn't there a sheet you are supposed to remove before you apply the picture to the cake/cookie? Is that what you are seeing, the paper that was supposed to be removed?
