. . . here it goes. When you say chill the dough, do you put it in the refrigerator or freezer? Also, I read some roll the dough flat in between parchment paper then freeze it for later use. Do you have to wrap it in saran wrap or something to avoid freezer burn. Thank you, I am going to attempt another batch of cookies.
I'm a newbie too to cookies but I always roll and cut my dough before I chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes then bake.
As far as freezing I usually have the cookies baked and then wrap each one then put in freezer bags until I need to take out to decorate. I tried a week ago where I cut, baked and put on rolled buttercream and froze. I'll be taking them out of the freezer within the next day or 2 to decorate so I'll see how they came out.
Welcome to CC deericket!! To chill the dough you just wrap it in saran wrap in put in the fridge for at least an hour. I never freeze cookie dough but it would have to be wrapped very well and I recommend putting a date on the bag. Others on CC do freeze dough and can help you.

Do keep us posted on the turn out. I have been waiting to try this too!
2sdae, I'll definitely keep you posted ~ I just hope my planning ahead doesn't fail since I had no other choice but to do it this way with time restrictions. I made a couple extra "tester cookies" so I could purposely eat them to see how they tasted before I finished them.
Thank you everyone. I thought chill meant refrig, but was not sure. Made Penny's cookies today, and Toba glaze. The cookies are good, I need to practice on the decorating. I too would love to hear how the freezer cookies with RBC turn out

Do tell how the cookies already covered in rbc come out. I made my first cookies lastnight and covered in rbc. Tonight I plan on adding RI, letting it dry until morning and putting them in individual bags for a cookie boquet.
They won't be eaten until Saturday. I hope that I didn't do them too early, my time this week has been very restricted. If I didn't get them done now, they wouldn't get done.
If the freezing of the rbc turns out alright, I'll know next time.
