I would like to share my first cake disaster! I worked on a cake for a birthday party it turned out so nice. Mind you all of you know how long it takes to make these cakes. I was so proud of my self. Well when I was picking up the cake to head out the whole thing feel to the ground at was destroyed. Mind you I was a little late to the party so now I have to call her and tell her about the cake. Thank god she was understanding so I went and bought her one from the store. I cried like a baby!!! Just wanted to share my story!

Thanks to all! I love this site and I'm so addicted.

Oh noooo!! Sorry to hear about your disaster... and it's great she was understanding though. Hopefully this is your one and only disaster thumbs_up.gif

I am so sorry...that is my worst nightmare! I am always the one to carry it in case I trip or something. I'm glad she was so understanding...it could have happened to any one of us icon_smile.gif

I'm soooo sorry this happened to you; this is my worst fear. Did you at least get a pic first?

My heart goes out to you. It is so stressful delivering the cakes. I can only imagine but I'm sure she totally understood what happened. That was very kind of you to purchase a replacement. Guess you just have to "get back up on that horse" and know next time it will be a huge success. Take care of yourself - it was just an accident!! icon_wink.gif

I had my first disaster a few months ago....a big'ol 3 tiered went upside down onto the floor....but it was covered in fondant so I was able to save the cake inside the fondant and make some fantastic cake truffles!

I can feel for you. I guess everyone has that nightmare every once in a while. I have had a couple of close calls too. I'm glad she was understanding.
