Iso: Doctored White Cake Mix Recipe
Baking By LivinInABox Updated 27 Feb 2006 , 6:06pm by LivinInABox
I need a recipe for a doctored white cake from a mix. My usual recipe calls for white chocolate and I just used the last of it on another cake. I would like to not have to run to the store if I don't have to. Thanks so much.
I madk a cake using white cake mix called a Snickerdoodle cake that I tweaked even a bit further than the Cake Doctor's recipe.
1 white cake mix (I use DH)
1 cup buttermilk
1 stick of butter melted
3 lg eggs
1 tsp pure vanilla ext.
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice.
Blend all for 1 minute on low. Then beat on med. speed for two. This will make one 10" round cake.
I bake it at 325. It usually takes around 45 to 50 minutes in my oven. I use cream cheese filling and bcf. Everyone loves it.
Hope this is helpful!
I substitue milk for water, add an extra egg white, a white chocoalte pudding mix and use a stick of butter instead of the oil. If you don't have white chocoalte pudding mix you can use vanilla, but the cake won't be completely white, it will have a slight yellow tint.
Thanks for all of your help so far. I haven't decided which one that I'll use tonight, but I've saved them all to MasterCook to use later. I highly reccomend my usual recipe. It's so light and fluffy. I don't even frost them, when I make them for myself. I had four the first time that I made them and I don't even eat cake
(just bake & decorate).
White Cake
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup whole milk (I use skim and it works fine)
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 whole egg
3 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1 white cake mix
Pre-heat oven to 350* F.
1. Melt white chocolate in micorwave for about 40-60 seconds. Stir until smooth and set aside to cool.
2. Mix milk, cake mix, whole egg, egg whites, vanilla, and melted chocolate for 2-3 minutes (start on low and work up to medium).
I have no clue about baking time. I would try about 20 minutes or so first and just keep checking. I'm almost positive that it will take longer than that, but I don't want anyone to burn anything. ![]()
LivinIn A box,
I presume when you said you ate four you are talking about cupcakes made from this recipe?
How about when you make a cake which size tin do you use for this recipe?
Thanks,Karen
Yes, sorry. The last time I made them it was cupcakes. Oops...I believe that it makes 2 9-inch layers. Don't quote me on that though.
