if you have a chance to open your own business by taking on a partner would you do it? we would split the rent, utililites, insurance, etc in half. the profits from cake, cookies, and baked goods would be split 75/25 my way. catering would be split 50/50 with her doing most of the cooking.

I would if it was me and all the sums worked out , Its the first step in the right direction. So you should really just think about it and ask yourself is it really what i want?

i really want to do it but i guess i'm just afraid. we have to pay the deposit by the 30th and the building has already been remodeled. so the wiring etc is already up to code and they are actually renting it to me for $100.00 cheaper than what they are currently renting the building in the same little strip mall area (for lack of a better description). they own 6 buildings and they had 3 vacant. i asked about it about 2 months ago but i really didn't like the one they showed me. when i went back to let my possible silent partner see the building they had already rented it for a more than what they told me. she remembered the price she quoted before and showed me the building that they had just finished remodeling and it looks great. she told me it was mine to just bring her the money on the 30th.....i guess i'm just a little scared. pray for me.

I would take advangtage of this. Make sure you have everything in writting. I would hate to lose a relationship over money or things that were talked about but not in writting.

Trust in God and recieve his help. He wouldn't give you blessings or put you in a position in which he didn't already have his hand out to you to help. He is our strength and in him all things are possible.

I am with the rest of the replies, trust in God. When big decisions have come my way I have almost always found that if it is from God and meant for me to have or do then I do not have to fight for it, everything just seems to fall in place and be easy. The times I have pushed to get my way come he(* or high water are the times I have failed. Now, if the Lord is meeting a desire of my heart it is an easy walk with little effort and the work is easy.

I will be praying for you. thumbs_up.gif

thanks......your words have helped me more than you all will ever know. my goal is to have everything up and running this summer. to think, a few months ago i was homeless, my husband had left, and everything that could go wrong did. me and my children slept in the car on one of the coldest nights there were. my son told me later that he thought i was going crazy because all i could talk about was God's goodness and Glory 2 God Goodies.

when i told him about the building a couple of days ago, he just shook his head and smiled.

Make sure that the person is someone that you feel very comfortable with. Someone who is trustoworthy and yes get everything in writing. Have a contract drawn up so that there is no chance for confusion or misunderstanding. My husband started a business with his best friend of like 15 years. I have to admit, even though that he was confident that everything would be fine with the partnership, I was a little worried just the same. Everything turned out fine. I am just overly cautious (is there such a thing?) sometimes.

Isn't God good? He's good ALL THE TIME! Your story is a testimony to His Goodness! Ask Him what He thinks! I'm sure you will get the right answer!

God Bless You and Your Children. Remember He will never leave you or forsake you!

I would hire someone to do the books to be on the safe side. And get your likes and dislikes out of the way before this big commitment. I would hate to see you start something and then be unhappy.
