I need a relatively easy fondant recipe, in Portugal we dont have Crisco so i need a recipe without Crisco or shortening, i dont really even know what shortning is.
Anyway iam doing a Spiderman Cake and i already got a great tip to use a BC frosting but i was thinking of putting fondant or marzipan on top ?
Any sugestions?

Try the Marshmallow Fondant, it is easy to make and tastes pretty good. You can find the recipie in that section of this site. HTH

the mmf would work great. once the cake is covered with it, the cake will last 3-5 days. and it will stay moist too. the fondant seals in the moisture. the mmf itself will stay good for a month or so if stored securely in an airtight container. otherwise it will dry out. if you make the fondant ahead of time, and store it, it will be hard when you try to use it. just put it in the microwave for a few seconds (depending on batch size could be 5-15 seconds) and it will soften right up. knead it a little with some powdered sugar and its ready to go again!

ps-
i just sent you a pm about using buttercream, but if you prefer, mmf will be great.

one more thing-
if you make mmf with marhsmallow fluff or creme, it will be whiter than if you use marshmallows. if you use marshamllows it will look a little creamish or off white once it dries. the mm creme recipe is called "easy mmf" in the recipe section i believe.

I would recommend Toba Garrett's fondant......you can find it in the recipe box here. I think it is much better and easier to use than mmf.
