I just tried the "Melvira" method for smoothing BC icing...and it rocks!!! I love it - this is the FIRST great idea I've heard for smoothing BC icing in a LONG time - I'm hooked! Thanks for sharing Melvira! icon_biggrin.gif

Yes it does work very well. It's the only method I use for buttercream.

I tried this but must have had the wrong roller...it was a mess...where did you get your roller from?

I tried the Melvira Method and it didn't work for me the first time because I used a different buttercream icing recipe. So I went into the directions and used the buttercream icing recipe that Melvira uses. It worked like a charm. I can't tell you how many hours I saved using the Melvira Method. It took me probably 10 minutes to ice a 1/2 sheet cake. It was awesome!!!
