i've just gotten into the decorating thing in the last few months, so i'm a little lost about all the reputable chefs that i'm always seeing mentioned on here. when i was at our local cake supply house the other day, i heard the owner mention to another customer about a cake show that was coming across the street at the opryland hotel. i just looked it up and it's in august, and it's with..................alton brown! if any of you are interested, here's what they have written on the site

it would be a fun time to do the tourist thing in nashville, hear some great live music, and see someone you envy for their well-known skills. i'd love be able to meet y'all too!!! let me know if you plan on coming, and i'll roll out the welcome wagon!

I don't do cakes, so this might be a stupid question, but is that how you guys make your buttercream? It seems like it would take forever!
No - at least not me! I didn't see the episode but just checked out his website, and that's now how I make it. Don't know about anyone else.

He goes into the making of BC to indepth for me. Fast and good is alright for me. Though I have thought about making it his way but not when I am busy with cake orders. Just like I experimented with the IMBC, now that is my fav.
