Want to make large egg-shaped cakes for Easter, and use fondant covering; but is there a recipe for chocolate one to make it look like one giant chocolate candy egg? Really don't want to use ganache for this. Thanks

Deb

I have made chocolate MMF by sustituting cocoa powder for about 3/4 cup of the powdered sugar called for in the original recipe for MMF. HTH!

Yup substitute with cocoa powder. If you know the feel of MMF, It should be easy for you. I like the taste much better! Who doesn't love chocolate! icon_wink.gif

I add 3oz of melted chocolate to the melted marshmallows, along with 1tsp of light corn syrup, the trick is to let it rest overnight or preferably for 24 hours. If you don't let it 'cure' then it's quite sticky but after one day it's perfect and the real chocolate really gives it great flavor.
