If you go to this site and watch the video for the leveler, you'll see the baker use a (something) to seperate the layers of cake after they are torted. For the life of me I can't think of what it is called!!! Could someone help me out please, I'd really like to get one. It would be a life saver! Thanks!
I'm not sure EXACTLY what it is, but you could use a flat cookie sheet the same way. You know, the ones w/ no edges. HTH!
It appears to be just a plain cookie sheet. I think they have those at ACMoores, not sure if Michael's carries it. Try looking in the baking pan section of Target or WalMart. I've also used just a plain cardboard cake circle. I just don't know how they slide right off like that though. I've tried both and I guess because my cakes are so moist, they tend to want to suction to the board/sheet.
I have a huge air-bake cookie sheet just like the one in the video. Someone had to have given it to me because I don't remember buying it and I haven't seen any that large before.
As for the cake leveler, it looks a lot sturdier than the Wilton leveler (large). The Wilton leveler was about $19 and it can be kinda wobbly at times and you might end up cutting through at an angle instead of straight across. But really just see what the best price would be and consider that with the Wilton leveler, you'll usually find it in Michael's and ACMoores where you can also use a coupon.

Fytar-I do have the large Wilton leveler. I just remembered another post on here that had this site and I couldn't think of anywhere else to show an example of the "thing" I was talking about. LOL>.. I would love to get the agaby leveler.....but that's going to be only if I start making loads of cakes every couple of days. I'll save my $$ for some other things instead.
I'll be heading to Wal-Mart and Michaels and Hobby Lobby. I know I've seen the flat cookie sheets there before ... and now that I think about it, Hobby Lobby is doing the 40% off one item coupon this week. Thanks again all!!
