HI,

I want to do a rectangular chocolate Spiderman cake for my son but have no idea what icing i should use and how i should proceed?! i live on the island of Madeira in Portugal and here they dont have a lot of things top put on cakes, i can get the sheet with a spiderman picture but what icing do i use? i tried butter and icing sugar but as i put it on the cake the crumbs sticked to the icing!! There is a jelly like icing is it easy ? anyone know it? Help any sugestions would be good.

try doing a buttercream crumb coat first. ice a thin layer of bc and let it set. the crumbs will stick to it, and then you can ice on top of your crumb coat without any crumbs showing through.
