How big of a cake do I need to start with to get a purse cake that will feed 30 - 40?

Also - how do ya'll price custom cut cakes? By the size of the cake you start out with? I have no clue.

Thanks!

I don't know either, but it would have to be huge! Why not make a base cake and put the purse on top? Just a thought.

The how to on Purses was put up by briansbaker, pm her and find out how much she charged, (if she did). Or how much she would charge and how many people it served. Never made one myself, I'm curious...

Hey! I've been having computer problems!!! But I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!
About the purse cake. it's basically a full sheet cake pan cut into thirds.. 11X15 filled with 3 cake mixes.. It takes almost the same amount of icing to ice an 11X15 cake to ice the purse cake.. Adding all the fondant pieces are time comsuming and not to mention pricey.. Unless you make your MMF. And pricing it, well it's basically all up to you.. Keep in mind it's a Custom Made Cake.. Not just some cake you can pick up at the local grocery store. I've made a few for sale I charged 65.00 and never got a bad reaction on the price..
Hope this helped! GOOD LUCK!
