Yes, just wrap it in saran wrap and put it in a freezer bag. It should be fine for a couple of months.

Sorry to hijack.....How long can you keep it in the fridge?

Helen once told me that it's better to keep in in the freezer than the fridge.

Okay, I just baked some cookies from dough I had leftover in my freezer and they taste very stale, not fresh at all. I wrap the dough in Saran Wrap, then foil and then put it in a freezer bag. Can you tell I was worried about freezer burn? What did I do wrong?

Uh, one more Q, how do you defrost the cookie dough, in the refrigerator or room temp? Thanks so much!

I don't like freezing dough for more then a couple of weeks I am worried about the dough picking up other flavors--despite wrapping it well. So far I have had no problems with stale flavors.
