There is probably just a dowel or some sort or even a pretzel rod inside and then sculpt around it. There are lots of heel shapes so you really can't go wrong!

I have two books at the library on hold for this exact thing!

Both of these books have a type of fondant/gumpaste shoe in them.

Romantic Wedding Cake by Kerry Vincent

Storybook Cakes by Lindy Smith.

Kerry Vincent's shoe is romantic and pretty, while the shoe in Storybook Cakes looks like a shoe on pillow (Cinderella's Slipper). Take a look at Amazon for these books, and "search inside".

I have a chocolate shoe that I did. And you can also use fondant or gumpaste I'm sure, because it's a plastic mold. I purchased it from Sugarcraft.com.

They also have instructions posted there on how to use the mold. icon_smile.gif

If you can't find what you are looking for how about incorporating cookie shoes on your cake. I did a cookie shoe in the cookie gallery that is covered in pink sanding sugar. Just an idea. Good luck.
