Does anyone here have one? Use it? Like it? Dislike it?

Just looking for thoughts on the Ab Lounges. I know that it alone won't make me lose inches and weight, and I'm not expecting miracles. I just want something that can help work out my body some more than walking does, and I just can't get into the work out videos.

I bought one last year. I was not impressed with it. Maybe used it a dozen times. I get a better work out with regular ole tummy crunches.

Don't get one. They take up too much space. My dad used his to collect dust! And it is not comfortable to use either considering the other options.

I know you are not asking about this but here goes anyways:
The best machine to work your abs is the ab muscles themselves. That may sound odd but a good ab work-out for most trainers doesn't have machines but is all done on the floor mat. You can twist and bend your body in different positions to get the best results where with a machine you can't. Also, one of the best things for abs is actually CARDIO. If you have any ?'s regarding abs or a work-out just pm me. I use to be a personal trainer and aerobics instructor. Abs was my specialty. Im back to working in the fitness field again (while in culinary school icon_lol.gif ) Also, when doing abs make sure you have the right breathing pattern. This is very important. Breath out when you exhert (when you crunch and it hurts) and breath in when it doesn't hurt as much when you are getting ready to do another one. This will keep your abs from getting that bowed or rounded look that improper breathing will do. With the proper breathing pattern they will look flatter with less work.

Sorry for the short novel! icon_redface.gif I'm just really into ab workouts since they are the hardest muscle to workout properly.

My husband has been talking about getting one and that's what I think is going to happen. My problem is that we don't have a basement or a spare room, he swears it should fold small enough to store under the bed. I'm not sure if I should believe that and with 2 kids I don't have spare closet space.

mbelgard....I can tell you, it does not fold up small enough to fit under a bed! It folds over, but it is not a space saver!

Tell DH to save his money!! thumbs_up.gif

Thanks for that info mocakes, that was one of the things he was figuring would make it a good choice. The only closet it would possibly go in is the bedroom closet and he has a good quarter of that taken up with a gunsafe so now I can tell him that if he gets rid of that he can have the exercise equipment. icon_twisted.gif

Thanks everyone!! I guess I will just save my money and get something bigger when I have enough (if I will.) icon_smile.gif

I searched the net and read mixed reviews on it so I guess it really isn't worth it.

MKolmar, thank you for the information. Don't worry about for the 'short novel', any time you want to share information on exercising I'm all ears. Ideally I know I should probably go to a gym and find someone that can walk me through stuff, but the idea of going makes me nervious and I really don't have anyone to go with. On the days my friend works I watch her little girl and on the days she isn't working she has her, so that would make it hard for us to go together.

Born2Bake, I have a few work out videos, but I just can not get into them. They make me feel goofy doing them, even when I'm home alone.
