A bump is a way for a person to bring a post back up to the forums page. Usuually someone will do this if there is a question in the post that hasn't beeen answered. Sometimes people are eager beavers and type in "Bump" three minutes after the original post. You could type in any word and bring it back up to the top of the forum, but people type in bump to "bump" it back up to the top again.
