Has anyone tried the Petit Four icing recipe from this site? I need a good icing for petit fours. I was going to try Wilton's quick pour fondant recipe but I've heard a couple of horror stories about it.

I personally have not.... but I called my aunt last night and she has made petit fours before and has used a certain recipe.... she didnt know where it came from but when she told me ingredients and stuff it was the same recipe that is on here......

she also gave the advice to stay away from wiltons quick pour... to her it had a very bad taste, and it looked like crap.....

That's good to know because I was almost tempted to use Wilton's quick pour icing for my petit fours.

Thanks for the info.

I have to agree with the results of the Wilton recipe. I made some for the frost and also their recipe for apricot glaze. Neither one had the results that I had hopes for. The frosting did not pur smoothly and they generally looked pretty awful.

Ok now I'm definitely drifting away from that recipe.
