Baking In A Terra Cotta Pot

Has anyone ever used one to bake a cake in? Just "grease" it and line with parchment?

If you look in my photos you will see the picture of the popcorn cake. It was baked in a terra cotta pot. I lined the pot with aluminm foil (very thin foil/the cheap stuff) and then greased and floured it. I use the Wilton Cake Release it greases and flours at the same time. Flatten/smooth the foil as best you can, inside the pot. It will leave some creases in your cake but once it is covered with icing it won't show. I baked a fruit cake in a little terracotta pot ( in my photos ), and if I recall properly, I just greased the inside with butter.

Really easy to do, but from everything I've been told, make sure the pot is made in the USA. Pots from other countries contain lead, and that can get into the cake while baking. Pots from the US are lead-free.
