I am making a cake for Saturday and I am going to put lettering on it that is made from royal icing. The icing on the cake is buttercream. The letters were made yesterday. When can I safely put the letters on? I'd like to put them on this evening when I frost the cake because I have to decorate another cake on Friday for Saturday. I don't want the royal icing to soften up and mess up the cake though. Please help!

As long as you aren't putting the cake in the fridge, you should be okay.
