Oh gosh... I just delivered a 4 tier wedding cake with Key Lime filling. The bottom layers slid a little in transit. Let's give a collective wish for it to survive the wedding. Cross your fingers!

I'm sure it will be fine.

I love your signature line, that is too funny.

I remember in the movie Fiddler On The Roof the villagers asking the Rabbi if there is a blessing for a sewing machine, and there was. So there must be a blessing for a cake as well. I hope all goes well and it holds up beautifully till the very last bite, how's that?

Well, this could be a subject that I will be thinking about in the near future! I'm about to embark on the same type of journey. Only my cake will have pineapple filling. But I also have to drive it over 30 miles in traffic.....in Seattle time that's about an hour give or take, depending on the time of day. I'm going north to Bothell, at about noon.....so if your from around here, you do the math! icon_rolleyes.gif

I will be taking mine unassembled, just to be sure that things don't come "unglued" too much on the trip. And then hope that everyone on the road drives with some sense! I've been in my new home in Washington just about a year now, and I've seen more bad driving here in a year than I have anywhere else in my whole life! And I've been around a while...... icon_eek.gif Wish me luck!!

Good Luck! Just be as sparing as possible with the filling. I think I overdid it. And freeze your layers for max stability. One of these layers didn't get frozen first. Ugh... I hate the anxiety!!

IT MADE IT! And no one ever knew there was a problem. Whew! I hate it when crazy stuff happens that you can't do anything about.

It's the one with orchids in my photos. I'm so relieved. Thanks everyone for your kind words. gabbenmom I'll send you the recipe.
