I'm suddenly doing a baby shower cake for some friends. I only have a little over a week, which isn't a lot for me. I usually start making my figurines a few weeks ahead of time. I haven't make that many cakes, mostly just for my daughter's birthdays. Anyway, our friends are HUGE U. Oregon fans...the DUCKS. I was thinking of incorporating ducks. I want it to be fun and whimsical and be fondant covered with figurines. Is that specific enough ? icon_lol.gif
I need some ideas or pictures or something to get over my duck making hump!
Thanks!!

Maybe do like a football field on pink or blue grass back ground and have ducks in Stroller race with little blue or pink footballs under there wings/arms trying to get first over field goal line.. try incorpaorting the HUGE sports fan together in a baby scene... I know sound kinda dumb but it would be cute... OK Im laughing at my self but hey! Im in cake overload right now and got some really off the wall ideas flowing..HAHAHA Good Luck

Hello, I have a babyshower duck cake in my photos, you could change the ducks to your logo, maybe buy the rubber duckies and decorate them with the logo. I hope this helps. Also, you could cover the cake in fondant, and I think there's an idea on the duck cake pan for covering the duck in fondant too.

You could do ducks wearing diapers!!! Maybe green ducks and yellow diapers!!

Being a duck fan myslef I had to give my two cents okay that may have been one cent!

GO DUCKS!!!!!!

Well, I'm not very good at molding fondant figures, but I did do some ducks on a pond for bird camp a few years back. I'll try to attach some photos here. Maybe that'll spark some ideas? Keep in mind this was right out of course one, so not very talented in the results.

That's very cute. What's bird camp?

Thanks for ideas! Ducks in diapers...LOL! That could be really funny.

Sorry about the double posting of this thread. Not sure what the heck happened.

Hello: Just another idea to help you finalize your design...I did a quick search in CC gallery using the keyword "ducks" and pulled up a beautiful baby shower cake by cindycakes called "Ducks in Water Baby Shower Cake". It's really adorable. There are other duck theme cakes there also, but this is the first one I saw.

Karen, bird camp was a day camp program my girls have been going to run by our local Audubon Society.

I think the wilton duck pan would be cute. Make it look like a rubber ducky. I gave a baby shower once and we made the punch that you use sprite, pineapple juice, and lime sherbert.... put it in a punch bowl w/ blue food coloring and added some rubber duckies floating in it. Just an idea! icon_biggrin.gif
