Hi All-

I had an order to do for a 70th b'day cake for one of my best customers that was to originally be picked up today. Here in the NorthEast we got hit with yet anther big storm so the customer called me late Thurs night and asked if I could possibly have it ready by noon yesterday. Of course, I said "yes, sure I can do it" Well..... what a fool I was!! Ever just have one of those days where everything you touch falls apart?? Mine included... one of the layers splitting in half (luckily I was able to "glue" it back together, I dropped the mixing bowl with a whole batch of triple chocolate fudge icing on the floor icon_mad.gif , the leprechan BCT that I made 2 of (just in case one didn't work) BOTH of them broke and I had to start all over again icon_surprised.gif Anyway, to end this rant... I finally finished the cake (not by noon though) and had to drive through the snow storm to deliver it (white knuckling it the whole way, I hate to drive in the snow) Long story short..... it was a disaster BUT... the customer ended up loving it and gave me a $10 tip!! icon_smile.gif I personally don't like the cake, but the customer is the one that counts I guess. Thanks for letting me share! Here's the finished product

I think your cake looks wonderful. I love the shaped pan you used. I don't see anything not to like. Your transfer looks very nice.

It's cute! I don't see anything wrong with it. Your BCT is great. I tried a FBCT once and it worked the 1st time and never again. I really wish I could get it right.
p.s. driving in snow makes me nervous too icon_redface.gif

It does look great. I will send warm thoughts and hopeful weather your way. I can sypmathize though I used to live in the Adirondacks but I am now a Floridian (11 years to thaw).

I had a day where nothing went right yesterday also. Fortunately, after much stress, I got my cake finished and delivered in time!

BTW, I think the cake is great. Love the colours of the rainbow!!!!

sorry to hear you had so much trouble with this cake but if it makes you feel better it is fabulous! Can see why you were tipped $10.00.
