I had some yolks leftover yesterday from a cake I made and I made pastry cream with them. It tasted great, but never having made it before and having nothing to compare it to, I'm not quite sure what it's supposed to be like. It tasted kind of like a vanilla custard. Is that right?

Exactly. thumbs_up.gif

All pastry cream is, is a facy custard.

My baking textbook even says they are basically the same thing. icon_biggrin.gif
