DH was watching the HGTV show that shows new items. I caught the one were they were showing items for cooking made from silicone. They showed cupcake holders that you don't need a muffin tin for and you just need to rinse in soapy water to clean. I want to fid some.

The flexible silicone bakeware has been out for a couple of years now. Most department stores carry them, as well as many of the major bakeware manufacturers. Personally have not tried them, but my daughter has a couple and they work well.

i have a silcone cupcake pan...i don't like it. it is too flimsy and i have to put it on a cookie sheet in order to pick it up. Maybe they have improved the silicone cookware...but i am not a fan of it.

I've used the silicon baking pans. I have the muffin pan that holds 12, tart pan, 2 9" pans, loaf pan, mini rose pan that makes 6. So, I've think I've used all of them except the loaf pan. They work really nice and cook even, but I tried to cook the 2 9" cakes and set them on a cookie sheet. Bad idea!! cause when the cookie sheet got hot it turned and didn't lay flat any more. Maybe use a sturdy pan underneath so it doesn't do that. Very easy to clean too!!
Hope that was of some help?!

I saw them last week at a store called Kitchen Connection in the outlet mall here where I live. They had mini ones too. I was thinking of using them for candy molds instead of the paper ones. ?? I am not too sure of the silicone--nothing to hold on to--support wise.

a few years ago, I bought the Kitchen aid 5pc silicone set for $25 or $29 at Sam's. The cupcake "pan" alone retails for $25. It even had a cupcake "pan" holder/carrier with it, though it's useless until you are actually taking the cupcakes some place. I don't use anything else for my cupcakes. It cleans up ok, but I've found that the Silicone doesn't ever come as clean as you'd think it should.

The kit had 2 - 10" Rounds, 1 - Loaf pan, 1 - 12 (lg) Cupcake pan and the holder/carrier. Almost a $100 retail value, it's been worth it.

I have other Silicone rounds that I like very much too, even though they aren't Kitchen Aid.

I have a kitchen aid silicone pan and I've used it once. I felt like it tasted rubbery! I don't think I'll be using it again.

these were indvidual cupcake cups for baking in. I have look at the HGTV web site and can't find the site. They baked the muffins in them, they set them on a cookie sheet. The muffins came out perfect no pulling or sticking to the cup, and they didn't get miss shapened each one looked perfect. I am thinking if you put papers into these cups you would get perfect cupcakes for the cupcake trees or wedding cakes

I saw a big table of these at Garden Ridge last week. They had the mini-muffin ones (4 pc.) for $1/ea. Had lots of the big ones too, but I didn't look at those.

For you Canadians or people who can get over the border the Superstore aka. Loblaws grocery store chain carries them. I haven't bought any as I have no use for them, but they seem pretty sturdy.
PS@There is now silicone bake ware with a silicone covered metal rim in the top edge. Makes it easier to remove and keeps the shape more.

I have some that are made by Wilton. I have the regular and small set. I found them on clearance at Meijer a few months ago. I also saw them at Bed, Bath and Beyond. They were $14.99 regular price for a dozen regular size. Unfortunately, I don't think either place carries them anymore. I didn't see them listed on Wilton's website, either.

i bought 2 sets of the silicone cupcake bakers for $9.99 (per set) at joann.com. (I know target has them too). Here's the link to joann's.

oh, would you look at that? they are on sale! figures... icon_confused.gif

anyhoo, i bought them because i thought it would save me from having to buy the paper liners. i tried them out tonight and i don't get it. i couldn't get the cupcakes to come out of the cups. that is, without completely destroying the cupcakes. i did some searching online and found that people are putting the paper liners in the cups. well, that defeats the whole purpose of the silicone cups, doesn't it?

if anyone can help me out, i'd really appreciate it!

oh, and btw, you can get mini ones too, for $7.99 per dozen.

Here is a link to the heart shaped silicone cupcake pans I bought, I love them. You do need to put them inside a sheet cake pan but they bake beautifully.
