Help!!!! ? About Luster Dust

I have a wedding cake that I'm wanting to put words around, like a lot of words, in rather small writing, I'm planning on doing BC icing, smoothing with Viva and then BC icing for the words, can I dust the words with gold luster dust to give it gold accent? It's for a 50th anniversary and they wanted gold on it. I've never did the words like that on a cake, and I've never had any dealings whatsoever with the luster dust. Thanks for any advice, it would be most appreciated.
Here is a link to the recipe for piping gold or silver...

Thank you so very much! But if I did the writing in white BC do you think that I could accent it somehow with the gold dust? And if so, how would I go about doing that?

You can make a paint with luster dust by adding a clear extract. I just put a little bit of dust in a tiny bowl and then add vodka with a medicine dropper until I get a good paint consistency. Use a good quality, fine brush to go over your writing.
I only bought the small thing of luster dust, do you think that will make enough to cover the writing on the sides of three wedding cakes?
