Hey, I've got 2 make enough cake for the 40 people at my teacher's relative's 30th b-day, but I'm not sure what to do. I just started a cake business with my mom and this my first big party cake. The only details I have to work with is I need both a chocalate and a vanilla cake both with chocalate icing. I already have one designed using starbursts as presents with happy birthday Barb but I need at least one more for another cake and a good tasting color for a border. Oh ya, is two 9x13 sheet cakes enough and how much should I charge? Please, I need all the advise I can get. Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe you should find out what she likes if she's picky. Will she be the one placing the order or is someone else placing the order? I always like to agree on the decoration of the cake before the order is complete so that they can't complain later if they didn't like it. If she left it up to you then just look through the galleries and see what you think is appropriate and have fun. HTH

And welcome to cake central.

Thanks! I think I'm going to go with something floral. Any ideas?

Two 9 x 13 cakes is plenty to feed 40. Heck, if it's a double layer cake, one is enough.

Thanks guys! She really liked them! thumbs_up.gif But I didn't put her name or how old anywhere so she made me icing it on. So it kind of looked strange in the end, but when I figure out how to hook the camera up I'll post some pictures of them. Thanks again. icon_razz.gif
