Hi, Does anyone have a good chocolate cake recipe you would share with me. I have to make a Elmo cake for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday and my daughter wants it to be chocolate. I am using a charater pan. Should I use a cake mix and doctor it up or a cake from scratch

You might like to try the Darn Good Chocolate Cake:

Or a cake mix extender recipe:

Also, when making your Elmo red frosting - The frosting will naturally deepen over time, but if still not the right shade you can darken by adding red Kool-Aid.

Adding too much "red" dye (depending on brand and amount) can alter the taste of your frosting icon_sad.gif

Look forward to seeing pics icon_smile.gif

I have always had great results with the Blue Ribbon moist chocolate cake on this site. Yummy!
