I need ideas for fillings for my cakes for this Saturday. I am making a 14" chocolate, a 10" french vanilla, and a 6" lemon cake. The people I am making the cake for are giving me free reign to do what I want on this one.

I think my number one requested filling for chocolate cake is my oreo cream cheese filling. It is very easy... basically you crumble regular oreo cookies ( filling and all ) into cream cheese frosting. I've also used this with plain old buttercream frosting with great results. As cookie to frosting ratio, it is all up to you. I love oreos so I usually use a row per a couple of cups of frosting. Fresh strawberrie or raspberry preserves always go good with french vanilla and as for the lemon cake... how about lemon curd. YUMMY!

raspberry would work in all three layers (and create a unifying theme!)

Doug, I like the idea of the raspberry filling in all the layers. I just made some using cakemommy's recipe and it was yummy!!

khoudek, I was thinking about using a lemon filling in the lemon cake, but thought maybe it would be too much lemon.
