Does anyone know how I could make a 3D little elmo and big bird? I was going to mold it out of fondant first, but then I wanted the appearance of "fur", so should I then use royal icing and pipe fur onto it? Just not sure if that is the correct method. Would the royal icing stick to the fondant and actually look like fur?

thanks,
lisa

Royal icing will stick to the fondant.
I think Wouldn't use royal myself for this i would kind of try and get the texture by breaking and making lines on fondant wirh something sharp to make it like fur.

Unfortunately the picture is not good qualty ( old picture) but you can still see if you look that the dog is furry. that's done by cutting and scraping the fondant on top

thanks so much for the picture - so you just took a knife and made little cuts all over the dog?
