Will A Chocolate 'transfer' Sweat In The Fridge?

I am making a cake for my nephew and he wants a skating logo (ZERO w/ a skull). I made them using red candy melts but I am wondering if they will sweat when I put the cake in the fridge? I don't want the color to bleed onto the BC or anything and I have only done FBCT in the past but this time I tried the melts.
It worked much better but then afterwards I thouhght, this is too good to be true.....what am I missing? lol ![]()
It won't sweat IN the fridge, but as soon as you take it out, it will. There's no way you can avoid it. A cold object will get condensation on it when it's moved to a warmer environment. However...given the nature of the substance, I seriously doubt the color will run.
I had some in the fridge last weekend and they did not sweat when I took them out. I think it would depend on the weather for the most part. If it is a day that your glass of water will be sweating, then your CT's will probably sweat too. The fridge can make them brittle, but if they are already on the cake, and you arent going to touch them, I wouldnt worry about it.
I did my first chocolate transfers last week... I kept the cake in the fridge over night... the transfers did not sweat when taken out, and I don't think chocolate bleeds at all...
CakeDiva...I recently read in the Whimsial Bakehouse book that Chocolate Transfers should not be put into the fridge or freezer, they should be kept at room temp.
crud! I have that book too ( I LOVE it!!) the only problem is I didn't see these other posts and I put the transfers on the cake....so now it has to go in the fridge...yikes. I hope it will be ok. The frosting has whipped cream in it and the filling is french vanilla made w/ milk and cream and the party is 1 1/2 hrs. away tomorrow and it's so hot today that I know if I don't fridge it prior to the drive, I will be in trouble.
thanks to everyone for their help...wish me luck ~ lol ![]()
