you're walking down the wallpaper and wallpaper border aisles at Menards and everything you see looks like a potential cake decorating idea! I kept looking at some of the real small borders wondering if I could line them with wax paper and use them in place of ribbon on a cake! I picked up a whole bunch of samples that I thought would be pretty as a cake. Hubby laughed when I told him that I might need to order a few wallpaper catalogs now!
Talk about cake on the brain 24/7!

watch out next time you go to Menard's or Home Depot now that I've planted the seed in your mind! LOL
not only do I do this, but have DH thinking the same way! He's very creative and loves to build things...he's a very skillful tradesman, so someday when I can do cakes all the time (& give up this working business!!!), I'll cash in on those offers....everything around you, no matter where you look, has some "cake" potential LOL 
SO TRUE...you know you are addicted when your husband and kids are giving you ideas too!!! You become contagious!!
You know you're addicted to this website too when your kids are even sick of looking at cakes!!! I hear all the time........."oh no mom again!! cakecentral cakecentral!!"
I'm laughing my head off here because I traced the swirly pattern from my SIL cutting board the other day because I thought it would make a good design!!! I am so beyond hooked on cake decorating it's not even funny!! 
I have picked up a bunch of trays that will be great for reusable cake boards at the $$ store because I thought the designs on them would be pretty too.... my hubby is not as understanding as the ones mentioned though... I think if he could keep me locked in the house (and off of Cake Central) he would!!
I have used wallpaper samples too. I too think in terms of whether I can either use something for a decorating procedure, mold something with it, imprint something with it or use a decoration itself. My family just laughs at me. My DH told a friend one that came to visit when I was in the process of a wedding cake order. You better get up and move around or she will start spreading icing on you......
I am just as bad about making mosaics........
My mind is ALWAYS scouring the isles in stores with those two things in mind........I have gone beyond addiction I am possessed.........
Too funny! I do the same thing. Some of mybest ideas come from my daughters clothes!
Also my husband must be catching the bug also, becasue the other day he came up to me telling me about an elaborate plan for building an adjustable cake bok out of plywood to transport larger tiered and stacked cakes! If he ever gets around to it, I will have to post pis!
