one question...is your 1/2 sheet an 11x15 or 12x18. I use the 11x15 as my 1/2 sheet. If you use the 12x18...I would go at least 65.00.
I agree
That had to take a lot of time. For a 1/2 sheet (I use the 11X15, and make it 2 layer) that is just decorated with roses/borders, I charge $45. I would say make a base price for the cake and icing (costs plus your time), then add what you think the decorations etc are worth. I'm sure this took a lot of time. My thought is $65.00 as well!

When you say to make it a 2 layer....do you mean you torte it or you actually bake 2 cakes and stack them?
I am going to be way high. ![]()
According to the serving chart I use the 11X15 feeds 50 people so at $2.00 per serving (our very lowest lightly decorated sheet cake rate) it comes to $100, plus $45 for the fondant people for a grand total of $145... plus 7.8% tax of course.
Maybe that explains why we do mostly wedding cakes. ![]()
Sorry for the confusion. I make two 11X15 cakes, and stack them with icing or filling in between. I like the height that this gives to a 1/2 sheet cake. I believe -- correct me if I'm wrong -- that at most mart bakeries, you get a 1 layer.
Wow! You think?...$65-$75....
I did not think it was all that great, but, then again I am always my own worst critic!
Thanks so much for all your help and complements!!!!
Like I said, I just do this for friends and family. I never thought I was good enough to charge someone...
Thanks So Much, You all have made my week!
