My aunt puts the wires or picks in while the icing is still pliable...so as soon as she has made them she puts them in so they will be there when she needs it. But for the most part she just makes the flowers and sticks them to the cake with BC icing.

yeah my aunt only did it cuz the bride wanted flowers to give out, as well on the cake...she used a cluster of the flowers as the wedding topper... then what they did was take a flower out and gave it to whomever...i was told the bride and groom was pretty weird..... but hey who am I to say no if it can be done??
