I'm planning on using some RCT and covering them with fondant for a cake this weekend. I'm worried that the texture of the RCT will show through the fondant and make it look bumpy. Has this ever happened to anyone? Do I just need to make sure that my fondant is thick? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I'd like to know the tricks too. I would think maybe if you carved the RCT to a certain degree it would take some of the bumps off. Plus then I would think maybe you would coat it in some buttercream? I am not sure, it doesnt seem like they do anything when I have watched them do it on ace of cakes though.

You can coat the RCT with BC to make it smooth or I read that someone actually sanded it smooth. I also read that you can also grind up the cereal before you add the marshmallows and it has a smoother texture. Hope this helps a little. icon_smile.gif

I have used BC before the fondant. This makes a smoother appearance.
