My parents are ordering me a KA this weekend for my graduation present. has anyone had any experience with the refurbished KA's? do they last as long as the brand new ones, has anyone had any trouble with them? i'd like to get the professional 600 instead of the artisan, and if i get it refurbished its the same price as a new artisan.

KA still stands behind the refurbished mixers. I had a 6qt that was refurbished. After not many uses (6 - 8 months), it became really loud. I called KA, told them the problem, they had me hold the phone up so they could hear the mixer run. They said they'd send me a new one. They did!!
I know others who have bought refurbished ones had no problems whatsoever. So yes go for the 6 qt and be happier!!!
