Ok, now I don't know if this is just in my area or not (TN), but I walked into Hobby Lobby today just to browse, and low and behold, everything Wilton was 1/2 off. It only goes thru tomorrow, and since I have that new wedding cake order, I bought up a bunch of new pans, tips, bags, etc. It was great.

I do have a question though: I do not have a turntable, and was wondering what the best one for the money was. Wilton's tilt and turn is $60, so that means it'd be just $30! Is that good???

Thanks so much in advance! icon_biggrin.gif

My two fave wilton turntables are the two cheap ones.

I'm not that impressed with the tilt and turn. Some of the wobble, and I have had a student pick it up and have half of it stay on the table. Not a fun thing when you only have two hands and they are holding the cake and top of it, and you have to get the base back in a small hole.

I have the tilting turn table. It does wobble a bit and the top half is not attached to the base. It can be a pain in the rear! It's nice to use when you are writing on a cake and you can tilt the cake towards you. Half price ain't bad, but I wouldn't pay full price! Mine was a gift so I can't complain. Just get one that turns well, that's the most important thing!

I purchased a 19 or 20" round turntable with non slip cover from Bed, Bath and Beyond for about 20.00 and it turns great. The ones from Wilton are only about 11 inches so I would be scared of turning a big cake right to the floor with that size.

We don't have a Hobby Lobby.... icon_sad.gif But at ACMoore, some selected Wilton pans and racks were 1/2 off this week (started Thurs) so I picked up an extra rack and one of those 12x18 sheets in case I ever need it.

I too wondered upon the sale at AC Moore - the Hobby Lobby in our area doesn't open until Monday icon_cry.gif

Anyway, I picked up a big cooling rack and the set of rounds for under $20 for both.

Don't fret Jennifer! Hobby Lobby does 1/2 off of wilton about every 1 1/2 to 2 months! They will do it again.

Hope you feel better soon!

Hi All,
I am pretty new to the website...and must say I LOVE IT!!! You all are sooooo knowledgable and have helped me in so many times!
I actually came in to ask about the "tilting turntable" and got the info I wanted. I guess it was a blessing that they were out of them and I got a raincheck...I may not use it though from the info I have seen posted.
I did want to mention that if you go to Hobby Lobby's website they have a coupon at the bottom of the weekly ad...most of the time it is for anything in the store that isn''t on sale and it is usually for 40% off. Sometimes it will even be for ALL WILTON PRODUCTS, 50% off. Just an FYI for ya'all.
Happy Baking and Thank You for all of the GREAT info, Mary >^.,.^<
