Wow...best Compliment Ever From My Dad!!

My dad has never liked frosting. When we were kids and my mom made a cake she always left half unfrosted for him. Even store bought frosting, he wouldn't eat. And he HATES crisco style buttercream. Well, at DS's birthday party, I told him that I make my bc with real butter (I actually do 1/2 butter, 1/2 crisco, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him...) and he ATE IT!!! AND LOVED IT!!! I really think that's the first time I've ever seen my dad eat frosting in my entire life. He could not have paid me a better compliment!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Congrats! I will eat a bit if it is made with butter. Generally I do not like frosting either, just too sweet. Love playing with it though!

What an awesome compliment to you!!! My husband has never liked frosting either but he likes the 1/2 and 1/2 as well. It just tastes better!
Glad you changed your dads mind on frosting! He's just never had the good stuff until his daughter served it up! Way to go! thumbs_up.gif

I actually just use the Wilton recipe 1/2 butter, 1/2 crisco

That's awesome!!! He just never had the good stuff before.
I used to hate pineapple. Seriously until I was 23 I couldn't stand the stuff until I had it fresh. Turns out I just always had it on pizza and that is yucky!

nice. Speaking of frosting....I've slowly been eating away at the leftover butter cream dream icing I made last weekend. UGH. NOT GOOD for the hips and thighs!

That's so funny! There must be something special about that frosting because my neighbors whow "hate" buttercream absolutely devoured a cake I had frosted with the Wilton 1/2 butter/ 1/2 crisco recipe
