Okay, Wendysue's Martha Stewart (would you freak if she was coming to your house for dinner
) post inspired me to ask - if you could spend a day with a host from one of FoodNetwork's shows - who would it be, why, and what would you hope you would do all day (assuming you would be on the set with them) ?
I would love to hang out with Alton Brown. Love his show. I love to learn the science behind the recipes. And I really like his off-center personality (being an off-center person myself). And maybe I could get close enough to Sandra Lee to do away with her while I was there.
My Wife won't let me spend even a moment with Rachael Ray, so deffinately Alton Brown for the Science aspect of it. I'm absolutely fascinated that someone can make cooking as fun as he makes it look to people who can't cook. Some people don't like him, because he is so scientific in his approach, which is too bad. Also with a Television background, I like how he tries new things visually.
If I can't spend the day with him, I could put up with Paula Deen for the day, she would be fun to be around, and would probably actually be genuinely interested everything you have to say. If she gave you a moment to say something. Plus I'm into the whole comfort food thing, that's my main style.
I agree. Alton Brown would be interesting to follow around. And there's nothing wrong with being scientific about cooking. I am one of those people who will add the ingredients in the wrong order unless I understand WHY you're supposed to add them in a certain order.
I would also like to follow Paula Deen around for a day. I love her casual attitude, her comfort food and how she adds "budda" to everything (well, it seems like it anyway). I don't even have margarine in the house!
I would like to meet the Sugar Rush host IF I could accompany him to meet some great cake designers, chefs and chocolatiers I have always admired. I have a legal background like he does as well and I would like to know exactly how he spin-doctored himself a television program.
