Wow!! Thanks so much everyone. I do love Doug's last one. I think I can pull it off. I've never sculpted before, but I think I can do the figure on top and the weight isn't too complicated to sculpt.

Thanks again!

Hey Doug, I've made the figure (forgot to do a funny face though like you have) and I'm ready for the weight. I was planning on torting and filling the cake, will I still be able to carve it if I do that?

certainly...

just cut it on the angle on all four sides. personally, I'd do that first (make the basic shape) and then torte/fill it.

looking forward to the results

(and never to late to add a face -- just paint it on!)

I'll post the pics if they come out. I never thought of cutting first and then torting and filling, duh! Can you tell I've never carved before? I'm a little nervous. I really wish I had done the face differently, but it's on there and there's no way to change it unless I pop his head off and re-do it, we'll see what kind of time I have. icon_smile.gif

Thanks again!!

I'm done. Carving cakes is definitely not my forte! My husband nixed the cute saying, and since my writing is pretty iffy, I just went with the norm. I wish I could have done Doug's design justice, like I said before, I forgot to do the face like he designed, that would have made this much cuter! By the way, the 10 G on the side (if you can see it) is because he's a computer programmer.

Thanks again Doug icon_smile.gif
